John founded Westgreen Construction in 1999 — his London-based construction development company which specialises in high-end and super prime projects. He has overseen the successful growth of his London business (which has evolved to include a Royal Instititute of British Architects Chartered Architectural practice) and a portfolio of residential and commercial developments for some of the world’s most discerning brands. John brings with him top quality service delivery standards. He has a naturally innovative and intelligent approach to problem-solving and project delivery and is always focused on achieving optimum results in terms of safety, quality, programme and cost. John divides his time between Lisbon and London, looking after both Westgreen and VerdeOeste businesses.

Luis is a Senior Project Manager and Engineer with more than 35 years of construction experience within the areas of project planning, project management, technical direction, team supervision and client liaison. With an extensive CV of high-profile Hospitality and Residential projects, Luis has demonstrable expertise in all elements of project management, dominating areas such as constructive solutions and processes, legal requirements, cost management, programme, site management, quality control, contracts management, performance management and inspections & certifications.
During Luis’ illustrious career, he has worked as contractor, client and consultant on a range of high profile and successful project. Luis has strong leadership skills, a multi-task & detail-driven approach to project management, a very effective focus on the client’s needs and expectations and excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

Leonel is an entrepreneur and engineer with over 25 years of experience in architecture, engineering, and planning. He specializes in real estate development, focusing on sustainable design, urban planning, and construction management, with notable work in the tourism and hotel sectors. Known for his innovative approach, Leonel excels in market analysis, cost control, and delivering projects that prioritize quality and sustainability.
Leonel has held key leadership roles, including as a Technical Director, managing high-profile projects from inception to completion. He is recognized for his strategic vision, leadership, and commitment to efficiency.
Developments & Finance Manager
Luis is a Project Manager and Industrial Engineer with a Masters in Corporate Finance with 8 years experience with Business Planning and Investment Analysis across different sectors from Manufacturing Industry to Tourism and public investment incentives such as Portugal 2020 (especially within the Competitivity and Internationalization Incentives). Besides the exposure to numerous business areas, Luis also had the opportunity to work in Africa where he gained a deep understanding of this very specific market and international relations.
Luis contributes to VerdeOeste with his project management and financial expertise, analysing new projects from the perspective of an Equity Investor and contributing to their decision making considering the risks and potential returns.

Tom studied architecture at Kingston University where he graduated in 2003. He is a registered architect in the UK and in Portugal with almost 20 years of work experience in the UK and Portugal leading the design and construction of projects in the UK, Germany, Portugal and Japan.
During his twelve years as an architect and associate at David Chipperfield Architects he successfully completed several high profile projects such as the construction of a large luxury apartment block facing Hyde Park, the construction of a large modern country house in Oxfordshire and the Inagawa Cemetery chapel and visitor centre in Japan. In recent years Tom worked on the design development for the adaptive reuse of several presitigious residential, hospitality and retail projects in sensitive historic contexts including the restoration of a category A listed Victorian building within the World Heritage Site of the Edinburgh New Town.
Tom first had the opportunity to collaborate with John and Luis ten years ago leading to the design and construction of a private villa in Carcavelos which was successfully completed in 2017. He now combines the work for his private practice Herre Ferreira Arquitectura with project and design managment at VerdeOeste. Tom is bilingual in English and German and is a fluent Portuguese speaker.

Sofia is a Civil Engineer with almost 10 years experience in procurement, logistics and supply chain management for international contractors on a variety of large scale infrastructure and capital projects.
As well as gaining relevant local experience from being qualified and starting her career in Portugal, Sofia has lived and worked in Germany (1.5yrs) and the USA (5yrs), overseeing remote teams and projects in Europe, Africa, Middle East & Latin America and working with global subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers. Exposure to these diverse and dynamic environments provides Sofia with excellent perspective and an international outlook to project delivery.

Engineer, Senior Project Manager
Teresa is a Civil Engineer and Project Manager with 18 years of experience working for Portuguese main contractors in major public and private projects. Having also experience as a Cost Manager, Teresa has worked within several different segments, including high-end residences, major public works such as health units and schools, leisure infrastructures, rehabilitations and extensions.
Teresa’s experience makes it easy for her to understand the different points of view within a project team, anticipating and mitigating potential problems or conflicts and offering people & information management skills that will contribute decisively to the project performance. Also, the multitude of typologies in her portfolio allows her to be comfortable around any project, making use of the right project management tools and solutions.

Cristina is a Civil Engineer with more than 20 years of experience as a Supervisor, Project Manager and also as a Safety Coordinator. Amongst many other projects, Cristina was part of several projects working for a major Portuguese retail client. She was also involved in a number of public school rehabilitations, delivered on behalf of Parque Escolar. She’s been specialising in works supervision since 2014, having also experience in cost control, site teams management, constructive pathologies, specialities compatibilisation and both supply chain & contractors management.

Teresa has more than 30 years of experience as an architect working for prestigious residential and hospitality projects in Portugal.
She began her career as an Architect for the Technical Office of the Quinta da Penha Longa where she worked for three years. There, she developed several projects such as Caesar Park Hotel in Sintra, and intervened essentially in providing support for the Single Family Housing projects in the villages under construction, namely the villages A, B and C.
Thereafter Teresa was part of Praia D’El Rey’s Architecture & Engineering Department for sixteen years. While at Praia D’El Rey, Teresa also collaborated in several projects for Quinta da Penha Longa, specifically in Single Family Housing projects, the Convento, SPA and Hotel.

Sustainability Advisor
Olivia graduated in 2019 with distinction from Central Saint Martins, in MA Architecture, where she gained the coveted Spatial Practices Award, and separately a Green Trail Maison/0 LVMH Award. Based in Portugal since 2017 and fluent in Portuguese, her architectural background is research and design for sustainability. She has developed bio-based sustainable construction materials using waste from local Portuguese industries. These projects, in collaboration with various architects in Portugal and recently with the French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, has lead to her work being exhibited internationally including La Triennale di Milano, Dubai Design district, Lethaby Gallery London and Award Stores, Paris.
Olivia´s expertise in sustainability provides valuable support to the increasing demand from international discerning clientele to explore alternative, low-carbon / eco-friendly construction solutions.
Construction Supervisor
Jorge has more than 15 years of experience as an Construction Supervisor working for prestigious residential and hospitality projects in Portugal.
He has been working with VerdeOeste since 2015, when he was a site foreman on the construction of a private villa.
During his career Jorge has had the opportunity to collaborate on a wide variety of projects, from construction, to rehabilitation and even demolition. He is also qualified to operate construction machinery.
Junior Project Manager
Camila is a degree-qualified Civil Engineer with experience in the development of environmental impact studies, renewable energies, waste management programmes and advising on project technical matters.
Alongside her full-time engagement with VerdeOeste, Camila is studying a Master’s degree in Sustainable Urbanism and Spatial Planning to complement her professional experience in environmental projects and renewable energies.
Camila supports VerdeOeste across multiple projects, including new-build and refurbishment works as well as our developing Property Management and Maintenance Services.
Junior Project Manager
Camila is a degree-qualified Civil Engineer with extensive experience in the control and monitoring of large projects in Brazil and Portugal, including residential, shopping, hotel, hospital and leisure/gyms, covering setting-out, procurement, budgeting, cost and quality control.
Camila’s technical and interpersonal skills support early identification and resolution of a variety of project issues leading to best-possible outcomes.
